October 2009

Christian and I had an amazing trip to Italy and Slovenia for 2 weeks of this month while my parents watched the kids. It was really hard to be away from them so long, but as you can see, we did some really cool stuff.
We were able to meet Christian's amazing family in Rome. They were so generous and loving. They were the epitomy of Italian hospitality.
This is a picture of Marilena. She didn't speak any english. We used lots of sign language. Here is Tonino. He is so genuine!!

The Colloseum of Rome!!

The Pantheon in Rome The Trevi Fountain in Rome.

This is in florence on the only bride that Hitler left standing, because he liked it.
Venice was beautiful, but it was pouring rain. It was cool to be there when the streets were flooded. You can see the white line where the sidewalk is supposed to start.
This is on one of the bridges in Venice.

Here is my friend Ziva and I in front of an awesome castle in Slovenia. It is built right over a cave, so the back half of the castle actually goes into a cave in the mountain.

Christian and I hiked with Ziva up a mountain in Slovenia that was a really neat experience. It was an Italian battle line in World War 1 at the top, so we were able to go in caves dug by the soldiers and see old artillery shells and stuff laying around. I was sore for days!

We had a really fun Halloween in Utah with our kids when we got back. We went to Gardener's Village with my brother's and Sister's and Parent's during the day, and they got to go Trick-or treating with their cousings at night.

Fall Leaves. My favorite!

Here is my happy little Dragon And Unicorn.
Aden got to go to Pre-school while he was in Utah for those 2 weeks. Here he is at his parade and party on the last day of school.

Most of our Fall came in Europe and Utah this year, but this pupmkin patch was a fun excape in Az from the fields of cactus. We got back from Utah and the temperatures in Tucson are still in the 90's.

Summer trip to Utah

Family Vacation to Utah!

We just got back from an event filled vacation to Utah, to visit my family. We did lots of hiking, and we camped in the beautiful Utah mountains that I miss. Christian and I climbed to the top of "Toads Head".

Aden and Aisley were in a cute Children's parade put on my our church. They got to dress up however they wanted and blow horns and be noisy.

We went to Thanksgiving points gardens with my sister's family, where they have lots of fun activities for the kids like this water area.
Here is Aden and his cousin Anders. Aden and Aisley were able to spend lots of time with their cousins.

We also were able to go to a family reunion for my mom's side of the family. We saw lots of family that we haven't seen in a while. Aden and Aisley had fun in the children's races. Aden calls himself "speedy boy". The picture above is because Aden had to have a picture of "the boys".

Aden is showing how strong he is after one of the races!

We also went to Seven Peaks Water Park quit a few times. Aden is finally starting to get more confident in the water.

We also celebrated a great 24th of July Pioneer day. We started with the parade in SLC and then we went to a festival at the park. Then our whole family met at my sister's for a pic nic and slip and slide fun. We also all sat our on the curb at my parents for our own firework show. The hightlight was my Dad as "Rocket Man" this year (rides a bike with a fountain taped to the seat). It was great fun.

I have done horrible at taking pictures this month. We need a new camera. Ours sucks the batteries dry, so it never seems to have a charge when I want it to. Anyway, just wanted to do a quick note about what's going on with us.

We just got back from a great trip to Florida to visit Christian's family. We had a busy week. First we went to see Christians family in Tampa. We went to the beach and the Tampa aquarium. Then we drove up to Jacksonville to visit his Mamaw and Aunts and cousin there. We had fun watching Lacrosse, went to a Fort and went to the beach again and went to his Mamaw's where Aden caught a fish in the back yard. Florida was beautiful and green with lot's of big trees and water. Living in tucson we miss trees and green and water.

What's new with us?

Christian organized a service project called "Ruckin for Veterans" this month for his boy scout troop. He worked very hard on this, and it was very successful. It was also fun just to go hiking as a family. Aden definately has outgrown the backpack though, so he will have to start hiking himself from now on.

Christian also has organized a PT (physical training) program option on base, where Airmen can chose to come and learn the Combat Training that Christian teaches. He has put a lot of effort into bringing this program on at the Airforce base.

My little Apple Aisley. We had a lot of leftover apples from the hike that were donated. I have been trying to use them all before they go bad. Dried apples (I pulled my food dehydrater out of storage), apple muffins, apple fruit leather, apple sauce, apple puff, apple ice, apples.... apples.... apples. It's been educational. I have had fun looking up new recipes to try.

Christian's sister Whitney's family came to visit. We had a lot of fun with them. This is one great outing that we had. We went to the Zoo!

We had a great Easter!!! The Easter Bunny spoiled Aden and Aisley this year. He also ate the celary that Aden left out for him.
