After we went on the nature trail, it ended at the base beach of Lake Ogawara. This is a very big lake that we have here on base. The beach was combed clean, and the water seemed pretty clean. It opened just recently for the season. There is a playground at the beach.
Here is what the water looks like. It put my foot in, and it didn't feel too freezing.

We had a fun picnic and played for a while, and then hiked back to our car on the nature trail.
